Child Therapy

Child Therapy Services at Genesis Family Foundation

Children, like adults, are not immune to life's traumas and hardships. However, unlike adults, children often struggle to articulate their feelings and experiences verbally. At Genesis Family Foundation, we recognize the unique needs of children and offer specialized therapy services tailored to their developmental stage and communication style.

Child Therapy (Ages 3 to 8)

Child therapy for younger children, typically ages 3 to 8, utilizes a child-centered play therapy (CCPT) approach. CCPT is a research-based therapy that allows children to express themselves and process their emotions through play. Our experienced therapists create a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through play therapy techniques.

Common issues addressed in child therapy include social, behavioral, emotional, and relational challenges. If you notice changes in your child's behavior, difficulty expressing emotions, or struggles with social interactions, child therapy may be beneficial.

Child Therapy (Ages 8 and Up)

For older children, usually ages 8 and up, therapy may involve a combination of play therapy and conversation therapy. Our therapists tailor the approach to suit the individual needs and preferences of each child. Common challenges addressed in therapy for older children include anxiety, behavioral issues, emotional regulation difficulties, social pressures, and trauma.
