Strengthening Bonds, Restoring Harmony

What is Family Therapy?

Families can be both our most significant source of encouragement and frustration. Although a cohesive family can provide a solid foundation for its members, a distressed family can cause suffering and difficulty. At Genesis Family Foundation, we recognize that familial connections are complex. Each family is unique, with each member contributing their own set of strengths and shortcomings. Family therapy is a specialized form of counseling that focuses on addressing the relational dynamics within the family system to promote understanding, communication, and healing.

Our therapists are trained to detect the intricate interplay of relationships within your family and provide tailored solutions for restoration. While relationships within families can sometimes cause pain, they also have the power to heal. We believe that with effort and guidance, every family can find hope and healing.

Recognizing the Need for Family Therapy

Families seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Behavioral Issues with Children and Adolescents: Struggles with discipline, defiance, or behavioral disorders.
  • Communication Problems: Difficulty expressing emotions, conflicts, or misunderstandings.
  • Distress from a Family Member’s Addiction: Coping with the impact of substance abuse or other addictive behaviors.
  • Financial Distress: Managing financial strain and its effects on family dynamics.
  • Grief: Coping with loss and navigating the grieving process as a family.
  • Issues Involving Parents’ Relationship: Challenges related to separation, divorce, or co-parenting.
  • In-Law Dynamics: Managing relationships with extended family members and in-laws.

If a relationship within your family is showing signs of addiction, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, severe depression, or other serious concerns, it's crucial to seek guidance from a counselor immediately for the safety and well-being of you and your family.

Payment information will also be collected, though charges only occur after each scheduled session.
  4. First Session: During your initial session, your clinician will review informed consent documents, and together, you'll identify your specific treatment goals and plan.
