Dear partners of Genesis Family, 

We are excited to update you with some exciting news regarding our organization! 

First Anniversary 

In February 2024 we celebrated our first anniversary as an organization!  We couldn’t be more excited by what God has done and what he is doing through us and this organization. In this first year, we: 

∙Held over 1150 sessions 

∙Served over 120 individuals 

∙Awarded 15 scholarships 

We feel incredibly blessed to play a role in the healing process that God has for so many individuals and families and are excited about continuing this journey to help so many more! 

New Therapist 

Another exciting announcement is that in January 2024, we welcomed a new and wonderful therapist to the team, Angela Navarro! Angela is a licensed professional counselor associate and has a passion for working with children, adults, and families.  Angela is a dedicated Christ follower and loves incorporating biblically-based truths into her therapy. New Website 

In February 2024, Genesis Family also launched a new website! If you haven’t seen it already, we encourage you to visit www.genesis-family.com. We are also working with an SEO marketing team to help our website ranking during online searches for therapy/mental health services. 

Help Us Get More Online Presence 

We would greatly appreciate your support by leaving us a Google review. More than anything, this helps our organization become more findable to the public, especially in general internet searches of people looking for therapy in our area.   

How to leave a Google review? (It only takes 2-3 minutes). Simply type “genesis family nassau bay” into your Google search bar; our website should come up first.  Don’t click on the site, instead, go to the far right side of the screen where it has our name and directly underneath: 

“Google reviews.” Click on the “Google reviews” button, and you will be able to write your own reviews. We greatly appreciate your help in this way! 

Podcast 

This year, we are excited to launch our own Genesis Family Podcast! Rens has been hard at work and already conducted two episodes that will be published in the coming months. Our goal is to have a new episode each month, interviewing various pastors, mental health professionals, politicians, and more, on relevant topics involving mental health. These podcasts will be on our website as well as major podcast platforms, such as iTunes and Spotify. 

Scholarships 

We are honored to continue to offer mental health support to those who need it yet cannot afford it. God has been faithful and through generous partners like you, we were able to offer 15 scholarships in 2023.  We have continued to see a large need for these scholarships, where we are 

currently offering services to 7 individuals whose scholarships are not yet financially covered. With consent to share anonymized information from these individuals, here is a brief description of some of the needs represented: 

Client 1:  Female client who has endured many storms in life and has ultimately surrendered all to Jesus.  She is on a journey of healing and wholeness and is in therapy to help process intense grief from the traumatic death of her fiancé. 

Client 2: Male client who is going through a divorce, per his wife’s decision.  His mental health treatment goals include learning to be a godly, single father to his children and processing grief and pain from the divorce. 

Clients 3 and 4: A couple who both have severe traumatic pasts and are now married, forming a blended family.  The couple is in counseling to work on letting go of old behaviors and replacing them with new, healthy ways of communication and relating to one another.  The couple is working hard to create a healthy family environment for their children and are overcoming one obstacle at a time.
